Recycling Consortium
Situation A multi-state, government-supported group of recycling
agencies wanted to build a website that would publicize the resources available
in each state and offer on-line publications in an easy to read and use
format. The online readability of
publications was important if the organization was to meet its secondary goal
of discouraging unnecessary printing and paper use.
Challenge The publications offered by the consortium were
long and detailed. To encourage the
right behaviors on the part of users, the documents had to load quickly and
be attractive yet easy to follow.
Solution The site architecture was distinguished by its
simplicity. The template was flexible,
permitting the economical upload of a variety of book length documents.
Results The site won a regional award from PRSA for its
communication clarity and ability to be mounted within the bounds of a small
budget.
